Robots with Becker dress packs — Clean-Room & Washdown application

Clean-room and washdown applications sit at opposite ends of the same problem. One asks the dress pack to shed nothing; the other asks it to take a high-pressure hose down every shift and keep working. Both are solved by the same principle: a closed package with no gaps for anything to get into or out of.

How Becker builds for it

A closed architecture

The LHMS is a closed and sealed dress pack architecture — developed with FANUC as a natural extension of the robot rather than an add-on. Closed construction is what makes a package cleanable: there is no open cable loom for residue to collect in and nothing exposed to abrade and shed.

Material behaviour

TPU jackets are used across the Connectronix range, rated −40 to +80 °C and IP67 when mated. The cobot clamp series is TPU with zero metal parts and soft edges, which matters where a machine shares its space with a person and where every surface has to be wipeable.

Washdown

For washdown, the specification question is what the connector sees when the hose is pointed at it, not what it sees in still air. We specify the sealing at the connection points and the entry glands to the ingress class the cleaning regime requires, and we would rather see your cleaning procedure than a protection class on a purchase order.
